Jakarta, Indonesia — 12 June 2026 – The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia (FKUI), together with Respiratory Programmatic Implementation and Research Institute (RPRI), has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regional collaboration in tuberculosis research through the upcoming ASEAN4TB Symposium 2026. The meeting was held with the FKUI Dean’s Office on 9 June 2026, confirming institutional readiness for the symposium scheduled for 1–2 July 2026 at IMERI FKUI, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Under the theme “One Region, One Goal: End TB,” the ASEAN4TB Symposium 2026will convene researchers, clinicians, and academic leaders from medical institutions across ASEAN under the ASEAN Medical School Network (AMSN). The symposium is designed to accelerate regional efforts toward TB elimination through enhanced scientific collaboration.
As the lead organizing institution, FKUI, together with RPRI as the secretariat and implementing body, emphasized that the symposium is not only a scientific forum but also a strategic platform to strengthen cross-border collaboration and align regional priorities in TB research.
The symposium is expected to produce two key outcomes: a regional Research Plan that defines shared research priorities and collaborative projects, and a Joint Statement formalizing the participating institutions’ collective commitment to sustained cooperation against TB.
The scientific program will include keynote lectures, panel discussions, abstract and poster presentations, side meetings, and joint statement signing ceremony. ASEAN4TB is a multinational tuberculosis research consortium structured around four thematic tracks:
ACHIEVE-TB
CATCH-TB
ANTERA
ACE-TB
These tracks reflect a collective regional effort to strengthen innovation across the TB care continuum, from early detection and diagnosis to treatment and management of complex cases.
Through this initiative, FKUI and RPRI aim to further develop ASEAN4TB as a sustainable regional platform for research collaboration, contributing to global efforts toward ending tuberculosis.
